Yes this is a glueless unit. I think it’s a 22 inch. It’s oldie and I just had to share lol.

Being a custom wig maker means I spend a lot of time helping my clients feel confident in their wigs… but I’ll always remind them that the real foundation is the hair underneath.

Healthy hair doesn’t have to be long or thick, it just has to be cared for with consistency.

One thing I appreciated about this experience was the reminder to slow down and pour into the hair beneath the style.

Girl… Wigs, Sew-ins, Quick-weaves, Braids and etc can absolutely be a protective style, but maintaining your natural hair is what helps them do their job.

When I tell y’all that @TheSteamBar has one of the best hair care systems I’ve ever tried, I truly mean it. From the moment the products were used, my hair felt clean, hydrated, and incredibly soft without feeling stripped.

It’s been forever since I’ve worn color and a side part 🙈 Iove everything about the color. Decided to keep the roots a bit darker.. that way the wig would look as natural as possible.

For the girls that like their parts SUPER defined 👀

Now me personally… I don’t always do this
because my wigs already give scalp

BUT if you want that extra crisp, clean look… this is the hack 💁🏽‍♀️

A little root cover up, and rat tail comb… makes a difference

And remember…this is optional. The wig is still gonna eat without it 😮‍🔥

Everybody thinks you need 30 or 40 vol to lift…
And don’t get me wrong, I do use them.

But y’all please remember, a higher developer = more damage, less control, and inconsistent results.

I focus on controlled lifting using a lower developer to protect the integrity of the hair.

I promise you, your color fading doesn’t happen because of shampooing or maintenance… but a lot of the time it actually starts during the coloring process. ⬇️

Let me explain, when blonde isn’t built with dimension and balance, the color has nothing to support it once it starts to fade.

That’s why I almost never create a blonde using only one tone. Flat blondes fade fast! But when you blend tones like light, blonde, caramel, and brown, the color holds depth and dimension longer.
Even as it fades, it still looks intentional, soft, and expensive instead of brassy or dull.

That’s the difference between
a basic color and custom color design.

It took me 20 years to fully embrace blonding on my wigs

Something I had to learn was that a high developer compromises the integrity of the hair. You end up with damage, breakage, and a blonde that looks brassy, dry and un-even.

I work with 20 volume almost exclusively, and my blondes still live exactly where I need them to without compromising the integrity of the hair

My client proved me wrong, and honestly I’m glad she did.

I originally created this wig with a soft money piece because I thought it would complement the color best and I personally loved it. She came back and asked for it to be bigger, bolder and a bit lighter too. My first thought was she didn’t need it. But I trusted her vision, went back in, and re-lightened just the money piece using a 20 volume developer.

After seeing both versions side by side… I had to admit she was right. Sometimes the smallest change in placement or brightness completely transforms the look.

Products Used: I use my own line of hair lightener. The Perfect Lift with a 20 volume developer. Have a few more bags in stock.

When the custom wig and color eats @dymond_lashay

Yall already know how much I love creating these custom wigs and color.

She’s wearing the wig slightly behind her hairline, but it can also be worn fully without any leave-out.

So I didn’t color her natural hair and she actually sent over pics and videos in order for me to create this look. Talk about skills.

And of course, the secret to a dope “Black Girl Blonde” is a perfect root melt. I mean melted and blended from root to tip. Love this copper blonde on her complexion.

So yall need to stop say “ Im to light” or “Im to dark” for blondes. It’s all about selecting a shade that suits your complexion.

3 Things that make chocolate brown look rich, not dull.
 🤎 1️⃣ The Right Tone (Warm, Not Brassy Tones)
The right brown makes all the difference.
 Remember, that not all browns are the same. The undertone determines whether it looks rich or dull. Always keep that in mind.
  🤎2️⃣ Saturation
Make sure that the color has been fully processed, and evenly colored from roots to ends.
 Even application and proper processing is what makes browns look rich instead of patchy or dull.  🤎 3️⃣ A Cut That Adds Movement
The cut matters I would help the color to look even better.
 Even the best color looks dull without the right cut. Soft layers bring it to life.

I decided to color my @forvrmonae half wig blonde and cut a few layers

I use over think the right chocolate brown, that’s why I hardly ever created them but now…

Chocolate brown taught me more than color theory ever could.

It taught me patience.
It taught me to stop copying formulas.
It taught me to see depth, warmth, and balance instead of just “brown.”

Confidence didn’t come from a chart, it came from practice, mistakes, and trusting my eye.

2016 was something else.💕
After moving from Miami to Atlanta 2 1/2 years prior, it started to feel like home.
I really started pushing my wigs more and teamed up with a stylist and hosted my first ever, hair and fashion event.

✅ You can absolutely achieve dimensional looks on hair that is pre-lightened to a level 6-10.

✅Remember the lighter the hair the brighter the results.

✅ Do not use any conditioner prior to applying the product.

✅Shampoo the hair and then apply the product.

❎ Do not mix with any developer.

The secret to most of my colors, is color matching to my clients complexion. The trick to a beautiful blonde sun-kissed papaya melt.. is adding some soft moca and light blondes and soft browns without the entire look.
